My Training
I am a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) who has worked with midwives and physicians for over twenty years, counseling patients on their specific dietary, health and wellness needs. My extensive experience working with people world wide whose lifestyles have left them unhealthy has led me to the realization that we can often heal ourselves and that taking a pill for every ailment is often not the best cure. As a Health Coach I believe that small and simple steps can change one's world leaving one healthy and happy and ready to enjoy life.
I am a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I received my health coaching certificate. I am also a graduate of the State University of New York at Purchase where I obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology.
An expert in holistic nutrition, health coaching and prevention, I will help you make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting habits resulting in real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health and happiness.
You will leave each session feeling motivated and inspired. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as stress reduction, exercise, career, purpose and finances. You will learn how the smallest changes can positively transform and significantly improve your life.
What is a Health Coach
A Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that will improve your health and happiness. Health Coaching is not merely a diet. No diet will work if the many aspects of your busy life are out of balance. Throughout your health coaching sessions we will discuss your diet and find what works for you, but we may also examine other parts of your life, such as your relationships, career, spirituality, physical activity and creativity. Together we will connect the dots between who you are and who you want to be.
My Approach
I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that we look at how all areas of your life are connected. What makes you overeat? Perhaps after a day of stress at work you come home and nurture yourself with a bag of cookies? Do problems in your life leave you eating ice-cream right out of the container? Are you tossing and turning all night with worry which leaves you too tired to exercise in the morning. We will look at how all these pieces of your life affect your health as a whole.
Together we will work to reach your health goals such as achieving optimal weight, increasing sleep, decreasing stress, increasing happiness and maximizing energy. Our work will enable you to understand that it's not simply about changing your diet, it's about changing your life!
